An Online breadman bread maker Guide
easy to use and bakes a nice loaf of bread. You may want to adjust the moisture content a little. First couple of loves were kinda dry. Just add more liquid (trial and error).

This was bought for our daughter-in-law (our son just enjoys the results). The report we have had back - from our son - is that it made a very good loaf of bread. As we were back in the UK before it was tried, we can’t testify.

We use it all the time. I have never made bread before and it is easy with this machine. Great price.
I purchased this breadmaker for my sister. There was a problem with it so she called the Breadman company. They told her to cut of the power cord and send it to them and she will receive a new machine. She got a used discontinued model that was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. She’s been calling the company since January and they have yet to send her a replacement. AVOID THE HEADACHE…DO NOT BUY A BREADMAN!!!
Love it! Makes great bread everytime. Have had it for 8 months now and use it probably two, three times a week. Easy to clean, looks great on your counter (although I put mine away in the cabinet when I’m not using it). Buy it and begin to dazzle your friends and family with fresh, wholesome bread! GET IT!!!
I love having a bread machine. I think I misunderstood the concept of “quiet” because I think this is loud. It is my first bread machine so I have no comparison but my kitchen is separate from my TV room and it is disruptingly loud. My son came downstairs to see what noise was. On the other hand, I have made two loaves of bread that my family seems to love.
The product is a good investment. It makes three different size loaves of bread and comes with an incredible cookbook that is a rare wealth of information as a standalone item but is a great partner with the breadmaker. If you are a beginner or an advanced breadmaker- you will appreciate the information in preparing the many types of breads and cakes as well as the many types of flours, yeasts, etc. This breadmaker does everything but purchase your products for your bread beforehand.
I would make one suggestion—don’t make a loaf of bread that will not finish until late at night and just leave the bread in the pan in the convection oven until morning unless you want to kill the neighbor’s birds…
If you are a fan of fine, home baked breads and are in the market for a bread machine, look no further. This machine is fabulous! It has many menu features for perfectly baking a wide variety of breads and a delay timer for bread when you want it. My favorite features are that the bread pan and dough blade can go straight into my dishwasher, the fan keeps the heat evenly distributed for beautifully baked breads, and it features a beep signal at the end of the mixing cycles so you can remove the mixing blade before it bakes. This means you won’t have that annoying large gap in the underside of your bread. I absolutely love this machine and recommend it to every bread conniseur. If, however, you are only looking for a bread machine to mix up pizza dough and an occasional loaf of simple bread, I suggest saving some money by purchasing a less expensive model with less bells and whistles. Happy baking!
pros:
- look
- pre-warm cycle
cons:
- very very noisy. There is so metal noise when the bladed is moving, can’t really use the timer delay overnight.
- crust too hard
We purchased the Cuisinart CBK-200 Convection Bread Maker to replace one from a different manufacture that failed after 15 years of faithful. When the Cuisinart arrived, it would not heat at all. We sent it back. The replacement does make bread, but it is noisy and the bread does not rise well. We have tried several bread recipes, but none have worked well. It has become a dust magnet and we have gone back to using the oven.
I have had this bread machine for about 2 weeks now and have used it at least 10 times. Before that, I never baked a loaf of bread in my life, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I have been very satisfied with the machine so far. Like others have said, if you like a light crust, you won’t be able to acheive that by baking in the machine, but I like a chewy crust so it’s not a problem. I have made several types of bread and also pizza dough and everything has come out nicely. Operation is very easy and so is cleanup. My machine is heavy and does not move on the countertop as others have experienced.
My only quibbles with the machine are that it does not reveal the steps in the cycles — either on the display or in the manual. You just have to trust that it knows what it’s doing. Also, I got the machine to save money on bread, but how can you save money when you’re constantly making loafs and giving them away to friends and neighbors??? OK, maybe not the machine’s fault. Overall I am happy with my purchase and recommend this machine.
I bought this bread machine as a replacement for my 10-15 year old “Toastmaster Bread Box” machine which finally gave out. The new machine works well. All the loaves I’ve tried have turned out very well, and have tasted very good. The bread pan is a lot lighter weight than the Toastmaster pan, but I cannot tell if it makes any difference.
The “Super Rapid” setting is great! It actually bakes a good loaf in 59 minutes. To use this feature, the included recipes call for lots of Super QuickRise or RapidRise yeast (like 6 teaspoons). The super rapid white bread came out a little too chewy for my taste, but the raisin bread was great.
The machine comes with an instruction manual that contains 7 Super Rapid recipes, and 2 regular recipes. An extra recipe book contains about 20 additional bread and dough recipes.
I was lucky, I got this for $11 at a auto garage that had a bunch of refurbished items like this in the back, on sale around x-mas, 2006. It makes a much better crust and loaf than the Sunbeam model 5891, which I just bought from amazon. The sunbeam is ok, but I dont like the ridges in the pan, and the texture of the bread didnt seem as fluffy as the breadman. Overall, the breadman seems better, but the cheaper Sunbeam is a good value for just getting out some bread.
I have had this bread maker for at least 3 years now and it’s still going strong. I don’t use it everyday but when I do, it’s mostly used for making dough.
I make my own cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls so the dough setting is excellent because it does all of my kneading for me. All I have to do is dump the dough out and roll it out for by cinnamon rolls (or form the dough for the yeast rolls). It’s an excellent workhorse even when working with the heavy, thick doughs.
It’s really durable too. I’ve learned that you might want to put a non skid pad or dish towel underneath it because the agitating action when it’s kneading makes the machine move. Mine actually walked itself right off the countertop to my horror, but kept right on mixing. When I picked it up it was completely fine and has worked just fine ever since. (That was a year ago.)
I’ve known people who have purchased this and used it every single day to keep fresh bread in the house. The rate that I use it (roughly once a week) this machine should be just fine years and years from now.
Purchased in Jan 2007, my second bread pan just failed, the gasket or rivets started leaking. I called and they said a replacement is not available…GRRR!!!!
I have greatly enjoyed this model, it was my first. Easy to use and consistent results. I make 2 - 2lb loaves a week of a whole wheat bread.
I going to limp along with it until I can save the money for the Zojirushi BBCC-X20.
I was looking for the best possible bread maker for the smallest budget and I found the Panasonic SD-YD250 automatic bread maker. Great machine for the money and eligible for free super saver shipping. I used to make all my bread from scratch, but have become a total convert to using a bread machine thanks to this great product. The loaves come out even and flavorful and taste just like the bread I used to make. What took me a little getting used to was the bread shape (tall and narrow compared to a hand-made loaf or sandwich bread) and the small hole in the bottom of the loaf. I simply cut each slice in half to create a regular-sized sandwich. The recipes in the booklet that comes with the machine offers some great beginners recipes. If you add a teaspoon of what gluten to the wheat recipes, the bread rises better and makes for a “fluffier” loaf. My favorite part is the timer, though. Every other night (we eat a lot of bread!), I put the bread ingredients in the pan, set the timer, and wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning. Even my 14 month old boy loves the whole wheat bread this great product makes!
I have never owned a bread machine before and received this model as a birthday gift. I am extremely happy with it so far. I’ve probably made about 10 loaves over the past couple months and I have never had a problem.
It would be nice if there was a “reset” button so that if you accidentally start a baking cycle and want to change the settings, you wouldn’t have to unplug the machine for ten minutes, but I can’t think of anything else I’d change.
Although this is my third Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Maker, I am very happy with it’s features. I like the separate yeast dispenser, I like the choices in loaf size and crust color. I also feel it is quite forgiving if you are not perfectly accurate with your measurements. The main problem is the motor burns out after awhile; but, I do use it often, almost daily. My son once used it to make pizza dough (as he OFTEN did) and set it too close to the countertop edge. The machine fell to the floor but kept on working. It was the motor that eventually died.
I’m just wondering what is going with the price on this Bread Maker?! Since last week the price went up from $113.99 to $174.67, e.g. there is a 50% increase. It’s probably cheaper to buy it directly from dealer. I didn’t have time to order it here last week for $113.99 and I will not definitely order it now for $174.67, will wait for few more weeks.
I personally bought due to a special diet i am doing now .I didn’t like the taste of the bakery one , i was advised to try it with a bread maker ,so i bought this , let me tell you the bread cake is heavenly good cant stop eating it .the beard Maker has many many good options & simple to use
hope this will help someone
